HARRISONBURG, Va. (Interstat) — A surging James Madison women’s basketball team will look to continue its dominant run when it hosts Coastal Carolina at the JMU Convocation Center on Friday, Feb. 27, 2026. The Dukes (22-8) enter on an eight-game winning streak, having won those contests by an average margin of 22.5 points. Their most recent victory was a 77-55 rout of Old Dominion on Wednesday, led by Bree Robinson’s 15 points. Robinson has been a consistent force, scoring in double figures in seven of the last eight games, including a 30-point outburst against Old Dominion on Feb. 14. Coastal Carolina (14-16) arrives after a thrilling 92-84 overtime road win at Georgia State on Tuesday. The Chanticleers were powered by a career-high 22 points from guard Kristin Williams, who has averaged 13.4 points over her last eight games. Tracey Hueston added 20 points and Kinsea Grimes scored 18 in the victory. The matchup will be a rematch of a Dec. 17, 2025, meeting, which James Madison won 71-68 in Conway, South Carolina. The Dukes have relied on a stifling defense during their streak, holding opponents to an average of 55.6 points over the last eight. For Coastal Carolina, consistency has been elusive; the Georgia State win snapped a two-game skid and was just its fourth victory in the last nine outings. Containing Robinson and the balanced JMU attack, while hoping for another high-output performance from Williams, will be key for the Chanticleers to spring an upset on the road. James Madison will aim to leverage its home-court advantage, where it has been strong all season, and maintain momentum as conference play nears its conclusion. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST.
