RICHMOND, Ky. (Interstat) — A matchup of teams at opposite ends of the ASUN Conference standings unfolds Friday when the Eastern Kentucky Lady Colonels host the Bellarmine Knights in women’s basketball. The game, scheduled for Feb. 27, 2026, at McBrayer Arena, pits a surging Eastern Kentucky squad (23-7) against a Bellarmine team (2-27) mired in a prolonged losing streak. The Lady Colonels enter having won eight of their last ten, including a 67-54 road victory at Austin Peay on Wednesday. Guard Althea Kara Angeles led that effort with 15 points and five assists, continuing her consistent play. Over her last ten games, Angeles has averaged 10.2 points and 4.1 assists, serving as a key facilitator for one of the league’s top teams. Bellarmine, conversely, seeks to halt a 12-game skid. The Knights are coming off a 41-82 loss at Austin Peay on Feb. 21, a game in which they trailed 46-12 at halftime. The lone bright spot has been the recent production of guard Andrea Chiquemba, who scored 13 points in that contest and is averaging 10.1 points over her last eight games. However, Bellarmine has struggled offensively all season, failing to reach 55 points in any of its last 12 outings. The previous meeting this season underscores the challenge ahead for the Knights. On Jan. 17, Eastern Kentucky delivered a dominant 90-46 win in Louisville, holding Bellarmine to 27.6% shooting from the field. Eastern Kentucky, firmly in contention for the ASUN regular-season title, will look to avoid a letdown against the conference’s last-place team. Bellarmine will aim for a competitive showing behind Chiquemba and forward Ava Smith, who scored 15 points in the last outing. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. EST.
