NEWARK, Del. (Interstat) — The Delaware Blue Hens will host the Western Kentucky Lady Toppers in a Conference USA women’s basketball matchup on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2026, at the Bob Carpenter Center. Delaware (12-15) enters the contest looking to snap a three-game skid, most recently an 83-57 road loss to Missouri State on Feb. 21. Western Kentucky (7-18) is coming off one of its best wins of the season, a 70-65 home victory over Middle Tennessee on Feb. 21. The game is a rematch from Jan. 23, when Delaware secured a 66-55 win at Western Kentucky. A key player to watch for the Blue Hens is Lay Fantroy, who has been a consistent performer despite the team’s recent struggles. Fantroy is coming off an 18-point, 4-rebound effort against Missouri State and recorded a 20-point, 16-rebound double-double in a narrow loss to Jacksonville State on Feb. 7. The Lady Toppers will rely on guard Salma Khedr, who led the team with 20 points in the upset over Middle Tennessee. Khedr has scored in double figures in four of her last six games, including a 16-point performance in a win over Jacksonville State on Feb. 14. Both teams have struggled for consistency this season. Western Kentucky has alternated wins and losses over its last five games, while Delaware has lost four of its last five. The matchup could hinge on which team can establish control in the paint, where Fantroy’s rebounding will be challenged by a Western Kentucky frontcourt that helped limit Middle Tennessee. Following this game, Delaware will host Middle Tennessee on Saturday, Feb. 28. Western Kentucky travels to face Liberty on the same date. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST.
