LORETTO, Pa. (Interstat) β Two Northeast Conference womenβs basketball teams seeking momentum will meet Thursday when the Stonehill Skyhawks visit the Saint Francis (PA) Red Flash at DeGol Arena. Stonehill (10-16) enters the contest after a narrow 53-49 road loss to Le Moyne on Saturday. The Skyhawks have shown resilience, however, winning two of their last five games. They will rely on forward Ella Pelletier, who is coming off a strong 11-rebound, nine-point performance against Le Moyne. Pelletier has averaged 12.0 points and 6.0 rebounds over her last seven games. Saint Francis (PA) (2-24) looks to snap a seven-game losing streak, most recently falling 58-51 at Wagner on Saturday. The Red Flash have struggled to find consistent offense, but forward Shelby Ricks provides a bright spot. Ricks nearly posted a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds against Wagner and scored 18 points in a game earlier this month. The matchup is a quick rematch of a Jan. 15 thriller, which Stonehill won 59-57 at home. Pelletier scored 11 points in that victory for the Skyhawks, while Ricks was held to five points for the Red Flash. For Stonehill, a win would secure a season sweep and keep them in the hunt for a favorable seeding in the upcoming conference tournament. For Saint Francis, it represents a prime opportunity to halt its skid and build confidence in front of a home crowd. The game will tip off at 7 p.m. EST on Thursday, Feb. 26. Both teams continue NEC play on Saturday, with Stonehill traveling to Mercyhurst and Saint Francis hosting Central Connecticut.
