SPOKANE, Wash. (Interstat) — The Gonzaga Bulldogs, riding a wave of momentum in West Coast Conference play, will host the Saint Mary’s Gaels in a women’s basketball matchup on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at the McCarthey Athletic Center. The Bulldogs (21-8 overall) enter on a hot streak, having won seven of their last eight games. Their most recent outing was an 85-70 road victory over Pacific on Feb. 21, powered by a 20-point, 11-rebound double-double from standout forward Lauren Whittaker. Whittaker has been a consistent force, scoring in double figures in eight consecutive contests. Saint Mary’s (15-14) looks to snap a two-game skid after a heartbreaking 61-60 overtime loss to San Francisco on Feb. 21. The Gaels have struggled for consistency in conference play, alternating wins and losses over their past six games. They will lean on guard Abigail Shoff, who is coming off a 19-point performance in that overtime defeat and has averaged 15.6 points over her last seven games. Gonzaga won the first meeting this season, a 74-66 overtime decision at San Francisco on Jan. 29, where Whittaker scored 17 points. The Bulldogs’ defense has been stifling during their run, holding opponents to an average of 56.1 points over their last seven wins. The game tips off at 6 p.m. Pacific Time in Spokane. Gonzaga’s next game is at Portland on Feb. 28, while Saint Mary’s travels to face Washington State the same day.
