Preview: Florida State Seminoles at No. -- Duke Blue Devils DURHAM, N.C. (Interstat) — The Duke women’s basketball team looks to rebound from a narrow conference loss when it hosts struggling Florida State in an Atlantic Coast Conference matchup Thursday night at Cameron Indoor Stadium. The Blue Devils (20-7, 10-5 ACC) enter the contest after a last-second 53-51 defeat at Clemson on Sunday snapped a six-game winning streak. Duke, which has won eight of its last 10, remains among the ACC’s top tier and is anchored by forward Toby Fournier. The standout has been a consistent force, averaging 18.3 points and 7.3 rebounds over her last three games, including a 26-point performance in a win over North Carolina State on Feb. 19. Florida State (9-19, 5-10) arrives in Durham mired in a three-game skid, most recently a 77-61 home loss to Stanford. The Seminoles have found wins scarce, dropping 10 of their last 13 contests. Their offense will run through guard Solè Williams, who has scored in double figures in seven straight games. Williams is averaging 16.8 points per game in February, including a 23-point outing in a win over Boston College on Feb. 12. The matchup presents a stark contrast in trajectories. Duke’s defense, which allows just 58.2 points per game, will be tested by Williams’ scoring ability. The Blue Devils have dominated at home this season, boasting a 12-2 record at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Florida State, conversely, is 2-9 in true road games and has lost its last four ACC road contests by an average of 22.5 points. Historically, Duke has controlled the series, winning the last five meetings. In their previous matchup this season on Jan. 4, the Blue Devils secured a 78-57 victory in Tallahassee, Florida. For Florida State, containing Fournier inside and finding secondary scoring behind Williams will be critical challenges. Duke aims to tighten its defense after the Clemson loss and reassert itself before a pivotal regular-season finale at North Carolina on Sunday. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. EST.
