WASHINGTON (Interstat) — A surging Howard squad looks to continue its dominant run in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference play when it hosts a struggling Coppin State team on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2026, at Burr Gymnasium. The Lady Bison (20-7, 10-1 MEAC) have won nine of their last 10 games, including a 66-58 victory over North Carolina Central last Saturday. Howard’s success has been built on balance and defense, holding conference opponents to an average of 56.2 points during their current five-game win streak. Forward Nile Miller has been a consistent force, averaging a double-double in her last five contests. She posted 15 points and 12 rebounds in the last outing. Coppin State (9-19, 5-6) aims to snap a two-game skid and improve its seeding for the upcoming conference tournament. The Eagles are coming off a narrow 66-64 home loss to Maryland-Eastern Shore. Their hopes will lean heavily on forward Sydney Burris, who is coming off a 30-minute, 11-point, 10-rebound performance in that defeat. Burris has been a bright spot, recording double-doubles in two of her last three games. Howard won the first meeting this season, 64-51, at Coppin State on Jan. 22. The Lady Bison have controlled the series in recent years, winning the last four matchups. For Howard, a victory would solidify its hold on first place in the MEAC standings. For Coppin State, the game represents a critical opportunity to gain momentum and prove it can compete with the league’s top team ahead of the postseason. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. EST at Burr Gymnasium.
