(Interstat) — ASUN Conference rivals will meet for the second time in two weeks when the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles host the North Florida Ospreys in a women’s basketball game Wednesday at Alico Arena. The Eagles (13-14 overall) narrowly defeated the visiting Ospreys (9-18) 55-51 on Feb. 12 in Jacksonville. Sinai Douglas led all scorers with 23 points for Florida Gulf Coast in that contest, while North Florida’s Alexa Washington countered with 15 points. Both teams are looking to build momentum heading into the final stretch of the regular season. North Florida enters coming off one of its better performances, a 62-51 home victory over Queens (N.C.) on Saturday. Washington posted a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds in that win, showcasing the versatility that makes her a key player for the Ospreys. In the first matchup against FGCU, she played a team-high 38 minutes. The Eagles hold a slight edge in the standings and will have the home-court advantage at Alico Arena, where they are 8-5 this season. Following this game, North Florida will travel to face Jacksonville on Friday. Florida Gulf Coast will remain home to host Stetson the same night. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST Wednesday.
