Preview: Texas State Bobcats at Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks MONROE, La. (Interstat) — Two Sun Belt Conference women’s basketball teams seeking momentum will meet Wednesday when the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks host the Texas State Bobcats at Fant-Ewing Coliseum. The matchup features teams with similar records navigating late-season struggles. Texas State (11-16) arrives having lost five of its last six games. Louisiana-Monroe (12-14) has dropped three of its last four. The Bobcats will lean on forward Kyra Anderson, who has been a consistent scoring presence. She is coming off a 14-point, 8-rebound performance in a 64-59 loss to South Alabama on Saturday. Anderson has scored in double figures in eight consecutive games, including a 23-point outing against Northern Illinois on Feb. 7 and a 21-point, 15-rebound double-double at Georgia State on Jan. 31. The Warhawks counter with forward Marcavia Shavers, a dominant force on the boards. She grabbed 15 rebounds to go with 11 points in last Saturday’s 67-54 loss at Georgia Southern. It was her second 15-rebound game in the last three weeks, highlighting her interior impact. Shavers has also scored in double figures in five of her last seven contests. Texas State won the season’s first meeting, 79-69, in San Marcos on Dec. 20, 2025. The Bobcats will look to replicate that result and snap a two-game skid, while the Warhawks aim to defend their home court and even the season series. Both teams are looking to improve their positioning ahead of the Sun Belt Conference tournament. Following this contest, Texas State travels to face Arkansas State on Friday, while Louisiana-Monroe will host Southern Mississippi the same day. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CST Wednesday at Fant-Ewing Coliseum.
