Preview: Davidson Wildcats at Fordham Rams (Women’s Basketball) NEW YORK (Interstat) — The Davidson Wildcats visit Rose Hill Gym on Wednesday to face the Fordham Rams in an Atlantic 10 women’s basketball matchup, looking to complete a regular-season sweep. Davidson (17-11, 8-5 A-10) enters with momentum, having won three of its last four, including a 79-67 victory over Dayton on Saturday. The Wildcats previously handled Fordham (10-17, 3-10) with ease, winning 74-50 at home on Jan. 14. The Wildcats are led by guard Katie Donovan, who is averaging 14.3 points over her last three games. She scored 18 points in the win over Dayton. Charlise Dunn (13 points, 7 rebounds) and Kyra Bruyndoncx (15 points) also provided key contributions in that victory. Fordham seeks to halt a two-game skid and avenge January’s loss. The Rams are coming off a 69-39 road defeat to Rhode Island, where they struggled offensively. Forward Emma Wilson-Saltos, a defensive presence, grabbed six rebounds in that contest. Her recent high was a 13-point effort in a narrow loss to Loyola Chicago on Feb. 4. Davidson’s defense has been a strength, holding opponents under 60 points in four of its last seven games, including a 66-39 rout of VCU on Feb. 18. Fordham’s offense has been inconsistent, failing to reach 50 points in three of its last five outings. The Rams will need to find scoring beyond Wilson-Saltos to keep pace. Davidson, sitting seven games above .500, aims to solidify its conference standing before hosting Saint Louis on Saturday. Fordham, looking to climb out of the A-10 cellar, travels to Saint Bonaventure after this contest. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. EST Wednesday at Fordham’s Rose Hill Gym.
