FAIRBORN, Ohio (Interstat) — A surging Cleveland State team looks to continue its push toward the top of the Horizon League standings when it visits a struggling Wright State squad on Wednesday night. The Vikings (21-8, 13-5 Horizon) enter the Nutter Center having won seven of their last eight games, including a dominant 74-45 victory over IU Indy last Thursday. Cleveland State’s success has been built on balanced contributions, but guard Macey Fegan has been a consistent catalyst. Over her last seven games, Fegan is averaging 12.0 points, 5.6 rebounds and 4.6 assists per contest, showcasing her all-around game. Wright State (10-19, 7-11), meanwhile, has lost three of its last four and seeks to regain the form that produced a three-game winning streak earlier this month. The Raiders will lean on guard Breezie Williams, who has been a bright spot. Williams is coming off a 17-point, 4-rebound, 4-assist performance in a loss to Northern Kentucky and has averaged 16.4 points over her last five outings. The Raiders’ defense will be tested by a Cleveland State offense that has scored 73 or more points in three of its last four wins. In the teams’ first meeting this season on Jan. 7, the Vikings secured an 87-75 home victory. A win for Cleveland State would solidify its position near the top of the league ahead of its regular-season finale against Oakland on Saturday. Wright State aims to play spoiler and build momentum before closing its season at Robert Morris. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. EST at the Ervin J. Nutter Center.
