Preview: Saint Bonaventure at George Washington WASHINGTON (Interstat) — Two Atlantic 10 women’s basketball teams on the fringe of the conference standings will look to build momentum for the final stretch when Saint Bonaventure visits George Washington on Wednesday night. The Bonnies (15-13, 7-8 A-10) and Revolutionaries (14-15, 6-9) meet at the Charles E. Smith Center with both coming off weekend losses. Saint Bonaventure fell 58-55 to Loyola Chicago on Saturday, while George Washington dropped a 67-52 decision at George Mason. The teams’ first meeting this season was a nail-biter, with Saint Bonaventure edging George Washington 54-53 on New Year’s Eve in Olean, New York. Saint Bonaventure has shown resilience, winning three of its last six games, including an overtime victory over Duquesne. The Bonnies are led by guard Brillana Boyd, who is coming off a strong 14-point, four-rebound performance in 27 minutes against Loyola Chicago. Boyd has been a key contributor in recent wins, scoring 13 points with eight rebounds at Richmond on Feb. 11. George Washington has struggled for consistency, alternating wins and losses over its past six contests. A bright spot has been the play of guard Sara Lewis, who recorded a season-high 25 points along with six rebounds in a loss at Davidson on Feb. 7. Lewis followed that with a solid all-around game at George Mason, posting five points, seven rebounds and three assists. The Bonnies will need to contain Lewis while finding scoring beyond Boyd. Laycee Drake, who had a team-high 18 points in the loss to Loyola Chicago, provides a secondary offensive threat. For the Revolutionaries, improving offensive output is critical after being held to 52 points in each of their last two games. Kamari Sims offers a defensive presence, blocking three shots against George Mason. With the Atlantic 10 Championship tournament approaching, both teams are jockeying for seeding. A win would push the Bonnies back to .500 in conference play, while the Revolutionaries aim to get back to the .500 mark overall. The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. EST tip-off on Wednesday, Feb. 25.
