NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Interstat) — The Lipscomb Bisons will look to complete a regular-season sweep and halt a four-game skid when they host the struggling Bellarmine Knights in an ASUN Conference women’s basketball matchup Wednesday at Allen Arena. Lipscomb (9-18, 4-10 ASUN) defeated Bellarmine (2-27, 0-14) decisively just two weeks ago, earning a 74-44 victory in Louisville on Feb. 12. The Bisons have lost four straight since that win, however, including a 68-63 defeat at North Alabama on Saturday. Hope Counts led Lipscomb in that game with 19 points and five blocked shots. The junior has been a defensive force, recording multiple blocks in eight consecutive games, averaging 4.5 blocks per contest over that stretch. Bellarmine enters on a 14-game losing streak and seeks its first conference win. The Knights are coming off an 82-41 loss at Austin Peay where they were led by Andrea Chiquemba’s 13 points and six rebounds. Chiquemba, a consistent offensive bright spot, scored 10 points in the previous meeting with Lipscomb and is averaging 11.1 points over her last eight games. While Lipscomb holds a significant advantage in the standings, their recent offensive struggles, failing to reach 70 points in five straight games, could offer a window for the Knights. Bellarmine’s defense, however, has allowed 74 or more points in 11 of its last 12 contests. Tipoff is set for Wednesday night. Lipscomb will host Austin Peay on Friday, while Bellarmine travels to face Eastern Kentucky.
