HALDEMAN, Ky. (Interstat) — A pivotal Ohio Valley Conference women’s basketball clash is set for Tuesday when the Southern Indiana Screaming Eagles visit the Morehead State Eagles at E.T. Johnson Arena. Southern Indiana (19-8) enters with the superior overall record, but seeks consistency after a 39-64 road loss to Western Illinois on Feb. 19, followed by a 72-63 victory at Eastern Illinois on Feb. 21. The Screaming Eagles have won five of their last seven. Morehead State (17-12) looks to rebound on its home floor after a 53-74 defeat at Western Illinois on Saturday. The Eagles had won three of four prior to that loss. The matchup features two of the league’s top performers. Southern Indiana is led by guard Ali Saunders, who is coming off a dominant 26-point, 8-assist effort in the win over Eastern Illinois. Over her last eight games, Saunders is averaging 18.8 points and 5.4 assists. For Morehead State, forward Kate Dike has been a consistent force, averaging 14.9 points and 7.4 rebounds over the same eight-game span. She nearly posted a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds in the recent loss to Western Illinois. Southern Indiana won the season’s first meeting decisively, 78-59, on Dec. 20, 2025, in Evansville. The game carries weight for conference tournament seeding with just over a week remaining in the regular season. Southern Indiana will look to complete a season sweep, while Morehead State aims to defend its home court and split the series. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST Tuesday at E.T. Johnson Arena.
