Preview: Wake Forest at Boston College in ACC Women’s Basketball NEWTON, Mass. (Interstat) — Two Atlantic Coast Conference women’s basketball teams heading in opposite directions will meet Sunday when the Wake Forest Demon Deacons visit the Boston College Eagles at Silvio O. Conte Forum. Wake Forest (13-14 overall) looks to halt a three-game skid and get back to .500, while Boston College (5-24) seeks to build on a rare conference victory. The Demon Deacons are coming off a 78-54 home loss to Notre Dame on Thursday. Guard Emily Johns, a player to watch, led the team with 13 points in that defeat. Over her last seven games, Johns is averaging 6.1 points and 2.1 assists. Wake Forest’s recent struggles include losses in six of its last seven, though one bright spot was a 70-65 road win at SMU on Feb. 5. Conversely, Boston College snapped a seven-game losing streak emphatically with a 77-59 road win at SMU on Thursday. The Eagles were powered by a career-high 27 points from standout guard Lily Carmody, who also added three assists and two blocks. Carmody has been a consistent bright spot for the Eagles during a difficult season, scoring 18 or more points in four of her last six contests. She is averaging 19.2 points over her last five games. Despite their disparate records, both teams have found wins hard to come by in ACC play. The matchup represents a critical opportunity for each to secure a conference victory before the regular season concludes. Wake Forest will aim to leverage its experience and defensive pressure to contain Carmody and force turnovers. Boston College will rely on Carmody’s hot hand and look to replicate the defensive effort that held SMU to 59 points in its last outing. The game is scheduled for a 2 p.m. EST tip-off on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2026.
