The Bobcats (11-15) and Jaguars (9-17) enter the 2 p.m. EST tipoff on extended losing streaks. Texas State has dropped four consecutive games, while South Alabama has lost eight straight, with the most recent defeat for each coming this past Wednesday. This is a quick rematch, as the Bobcats earned a 69-63 road victory over the Jaguars just 10 days ago on Feb. 12. In that contest, Texas State guard KP Parr dished out five assists to help secure the win. Parr, a key player to watch for the Bobcats, is averaging 6.4 points and 4.4 assists over her last five games. South Alabama will lean on guard Diawna Carter-Hartley, who scored 12 points in the first meeting against Texas State. She is coming off a 12-point performance in a loss to Troy on Wednesday and has been a consistent minutes leader for the Jaguars throughout their skid. Both teams have struggled to find consistency in conference play. Texas State’s offense has been held under 70 points in six of its last seven games. South Alabama’s defense has faced challenges, allowing an average of 73.6 points during its eight-game losing streak. The matchup pits Texas State’s 5-6 home record against South Alabama’s 2-9 road mark this season. With the Sun Belt Conference tournament approaching, both sides are in need of a momentum-shifting victory to close the regular season. Following this game, Texas State will travel to face Louisiana-Monroe on Wednesday. South Alabama returns home to host Southern Mississippi on the same night.
