Rider Looks to Build Momentum Against Winless Niagara SANBORN, N.Y. (Interstat) — The Rider Broncs will visit the Niagara Purple Eagles in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference women’s basketball game on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2026, at Gallagher Center. Rider (7-19, 5-10 MAAC) enters on a modest upswing, having won two of its last three games, including a 55-53 overtime victory at Canisius on Thursday. Aliya McIver led the Broncs with 16 points in that contest, while guard Alena Cofield added 13 points and four assists in 43 minutes. Cofield, a player to watch for Rider, is averaging 9.0 points and 3.4 assists over her last five games. Niagara (0-26, 0-15) remains in search of its first victory of the season. The Purple Eagles fell 76-57 to Mount Saint Mary’s at home on Thursday, their 15th consecutive loss by double digits. Guard Chasity Wilson, Niagara’s top offensive threat, scored 12 points in that loss. She has shown scoring bursts this season, including a 21-point performance at Iona on Feb. 14. The matchup pits Rider’s recent resilience against Niagara’s prolonged struggle. The Broncs have shown an ability to win close conference games, while the Purple Eagles have been outscored by an average of 20.3 points in MAAC play. This is the first meeting between the teams this season. Following this game, Rider will host Siena on Feb. 26. Niagara continues its difficult season with a road game at Quinnipiac on Feb. 26. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. Eastern.
