Preview: Presbyterian at UNC Asheville Womenās Basketball ASHEVILLE, N.C. (Interstat) ā Two Big South Conference womenās basketball teams seeking to halt slides will meet Saturday when UNC Asheville hosts Presbyterian at Kimmel Arena. The Bulldogs (10-17) have lost three of their last four, including a 60-55 home loss to High Point on Wednesday. Journee McDaniel led Asheville in that contest with 20 points and four assists. The junior has been a consistent performer, averaging 11.4 points over her last seven games and posting a double-double of 11 rebounds and 11 points against Gardner-Webb on Jan. 30. Presbyterian (3-23) enters on a 10-game losing streak, most recently falling 72-59 to Winthrop on Wednesday. Daniella Velez, a player to watch for the Blue Hose, scored 11 points in that loss. She has averaged 7.6 points per game over her last seven outings. The Bulldogs won the previous meeting this season, 64-53 at Presbyterian on Jan. 17. In that game, Ashevilleās defense held the Blue Hose to 32.8% shooting from the field. This matchup features the conferenceās bottom two teams in the standings. UNC Asheville will look to leverage its home court advantage, where it is 6-7 this season, to sweep the season series. Presbyterian, 1-12 on the road, continues its search for its first conference win and aims to break a streak of scoring 70 or fewer points in 21 consecutive games. Tip-off is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 21, 2026. Following this game, UNC Asheville travels to face Winthrop on Wednesday, while Presbyterian visits Radford on Feb. 25.
