BUFFALO, N.Y. (Interstat) — The Mount Saint Mary’s Mountaineers visit the Canisius Golden Griffins in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference women’s basketball matchup on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2026, at Koessler Athletic Center. Mount Saint Mary’s (12-13) enters looking to rebound from a 69-43 home loss to Fairfield on Feb. 12, its most recent outing. The Mountaineers had won three of their previous four games prior to that defeat, including a 68-63 overtime victory at Sacred Heart and a 63-62 win at Iona. Guard Kayla Lindsey, a player to watch for the Mountaineers, scored nine points in 27 minutes against Fairfield. She has been a consistent presence in the rotation, logging significant minutes over the last month. Canisius (4-21) seeks to end a two-game skid after falling 68-55 at Manhattan on Feb. 14. The Golden Griffins’ last win was a 74-58 victory over Niagara on Feb. 3. Sophomore guard Yasmine Djibril has been a bright spot for Canisius, averaging 11.3 points over her last seven games. She scored a season-high 20 points in a loss to Quinnipiac on Feb. 5 and followed that with a 15-point effort at Iona on Feb. 12. The teams met earlier this season on Jan. 17 in Emmitsburg, Maryland, with Mount Saint Mary’s securing a 71-64 victory. The Mountaineers have won four of their last six games, while the Golden Griffins have lost 10 of their last 12. Saturday’s contest represents a critical opportunity for both teams to build momentum heading into the final stretch of the regular season. Mount Saint Mary’s will aim to solidify its position above .500 in conference play, while Canisius looks to find consistency and snap its losing streak on its home floor. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. EST. The Mountaineers’ next game is at home against Sacred Heart on Feb. 26. Canisius travels to face Merrimack on the same date.
