Preview: Merrimack Warriors at Manhattan Lady Jaspers NEW YORK (Interstat) — A surging Merrimack team visits a struggling Manhattan squad in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference women’s basketball matchup Saturday at Draddy Gymnasium. The Warriors (16-10) enter on a five-game winning streak, their latest a 62-57 road victory at Sacred Heart on Thursday. The Lady Jaspers (8-18) snapped a five-game skid with a 66-61 overtime win at Marist that same night. Merrimack’s success is fueled by standout guard Madison Roman, who is averaging a double-double during the team’s hot stretch. In the win over Sacred Heart, she played all 40 minutes, scoring a game-high 22 points. Over her last eight games, Roman has posted four double-doubles, including an 18-rebound, 14-point performance at Mount Saint Mary’s on Jan. 24. Her all-around play will be a primary focus for Manhattan’s defense. The Lady Jaspers will counter with guard Agar Farres Garcia, who logged 45 minutes in the overtime triumph at Marist, contributing 13 points and two blocks. Her defensive energy will be key in attempting to slow Roman and a Merrimack offense that has scored 73 or more points in four of its last five wins. While Merrimack has found consistent form, Manhattan has struggled for wins, with its victory over Marist marking just its third in the last 13 games. The Lady Jaspers will need to replicate the defensive effort that held Niagara to 42 points on Feb. 12 to contain the Warriors. The game tips off at 2 p.m. EST on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2026. Following this contest, Merrimack returns home to face Canisius on Feb. 26, while Manhattan travels to face Iona the same night.
