Preview: Brown Bears at Princeton Tigers PRINCETON, N.J. (Interstat) — A surging Brown team looks to upset Ivy League frontrunner Princeton when the women’s basketball rivals meet Saturday at Jadwin Gymnasium. The Tigers (20-3, 8-1 Ivy) sit atop the conference standings and are seeking a season sweep after defeating the Bears 58-49 in Providence on Jan. 24. Princeton has won 10 of its last 11 games, with its only stumble in that span a 70-56 loss at Columbia on Feb. 13. They responded with a dominant 59-38 road win at Cornell last Saturday, led by Madison St. Rose’s 15 points and seven rebounds. Brown (15-7, 6-3), however, enters on a four-game winning streak, its longest in conference play this season. The Bears are coming off a 68-62 victory over Harvard last Saturday, fueled by 21 points from junior guard Grace Arnolie. Arnolie is the focal point for Brown, averaging 18.1 points per game during the winning streak. She scored 14 points in the first matchup against Princeton but was held to 6-of-17 shooting. Containing her will be a key objective for a Tigers defense that allows a conference-low 54.2 points per game. Princeton’s St. Rose, a dynamic guard, was limited to six points in the January win but contributed seven rebounds and three steals. She averages 13.4 points per game and will be central to Princeton’s offensive flow. The Tigers have dominated the series, winning 15 of the last 16 meetings. Brown’s last win at Jadwin Gymnasium was on Feb. 22, 2019. A Brown victory would tighten the Ivy League race and bolster its postseason resume, while a Princeton win would solidify its hold on first place heading into the final stretch of the regular season. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. EST.
