NACOGDOCHES, Texas (Interstat) — A stark contrast in fortunes will be on display Thursday night when the Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks host the New Orleans Privateers in a women’s NCAA Division I basketball game at William R. Johnson Coliseum. The Ladyjacks (18-8) enter the contest riding momentum from a 72-70 road victory over Texas-Rio Grande Valley last Saturday. They have won three of their last four and sit firmly in the upper tier of the conference standings. Forward Aziyah Farrier has been a consistent two-way presence, coming off an 11-point, six-rebound, three-assist performance. Her defensive impact is notable, having recorded 16 blocks over her last eight games. Conversely, the Privateers (3-22) are mired in a difficult season, though they snapped a six-game skid with a 77-73 win at Incarnate Word on Feb. 12. They fell 57-68 at Houston Christian in their most recent outing. New Orleans will lean on forward Jayla Kimbrough, who is coming off a strong 10-point, eight-rebound effort against Houston Christian and nearly posted a double-double with eight points and nine rebounds at McNeese State last month. The teams met just over a month ago in New Orleans, with Stephen F. Austin securing a decisive 85-63 victory. The Ladyjacks have dominated the recent series and will be heavily favored on their home court, where they are 10-2 this season. The Privateers, who are 1-12 in road games, face a formidable challenge to slow SFA’s balanced attack and improve upon a defense allowing over 70 points per game. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CST on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2026. Following this game, Stephen F. Austin will host Nicholls State on Saturday, while New Orleans travels to face Lamar.
