Preview: SIU Edwardsville Cougars at Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles ALGOOD, Tenn. (Interstat) — A key Ohio Valley Conference rematch awaits Thursday when the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles host the SIU Edwardsville Cougars in women’s basketball at Eblen Center. The Golden Eagles (14-10) will look to avenge a 67-62 road loss to the Cougars on Jan. 24 and solidify their position in the conference standings. SIU Edwardsville (12-14) aims to complete a regular-season sweep and build momentum from its most recent victory. The Jan. 24 meeting was defined by a standout performance from SIU Edwardsville’s Syanne Mohamed, who posted 15 points, 15 rebounds, four assists and four blocks. Mohamed enters the rematch on a strong run, coming off a 13-point, 13-rebound double-double in a win over Tennessee-Martin on Feb. 14. Her interior presence will be central to the Cougars’ game plan. Tennessee Tech counters with guard Chloe Larry, who scored 16 points in the first matchup. Larry is a consistent offensive threat, having scored in double figures in six of her last eight games, including a 28-point outing against Tennessee State on Feb. 2. Her backcourt play will be crucial for the Golden Eagles’ offense. SIU Edwardsville has won two straight, including its Jan. 24 win over Tennessee Tech. The Golden Eagles have split their last four games, most recently falling at Southern Indiana on Feb. 14. The game tips off at 5:30 p.m. CST Thursday as part of the Ohio Valley Conference schedule.
