JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Interstat) β€” The Jacksonville Dolphins, riding a six-game winning streak, will host the Queens Royals in an ASUN Conference women’s basketball matchup on Thursday night at Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena. The Dolphins (17-7) have surged into conference contention, most recently grinding out a 58-52 road win at North Florida on Saturday. They are led by versatile guard Priscilla Williams, who posted a triple-double in that victory with 13 points, 11 rebounds, six assists and three blocks. Williams is averaging 18.3 points, 9.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists over her last three games, including a 30-point, 16-rebound performance in a win over Florida Gulf Coast on Feb. 7. Queens (9-16) arrives after snapping a five-game skid with a 70-66 upset at Lipscomb on Saturday. Guard Magda Freire powered the Royals with 17 points, five rebounds, five assists and two blocks in 35 minutes. She will need a similar all-around effort against a formidable Jacksonville defense. The Royals have struggled offensively in conference play, scoring 55 points or fewer in four of their last eight games. Jacksonville dominated the first meeting this season, a 91-40 rout at Queens on Jan. 8. The Dolphins have won 10 of their last 12 games overall, while the Royals are 2-9 since that loss. The game tips off at 7 p.m. EST. Jacksonville will look to maintain momentum before a key Saturday showdown with first-place Florida Gulf Coast. Queens continues a road swing at North Florida on Saturday.
