BEAUMONT, Texas (Interstat) ā The Lamar Lady Cardinals will look to complete a regular-season sweep and solidify their standing when they host the Nicholls State Colonels in a Southland Conference womenās basketball matchup on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2026, at the Montagne Center. Lamar (15-9, 8-3 Southland) enters with a three-game winning streak at home and holds a decisive 72-64 road victory over Nicholls State from Jan. 17. The Lady Cardinals are coming off a 58-52 road win at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, where Kamryn Wilson posted 12 points and eight rebounds. Wilson has been a consistent scorer, averaging 12.4 points over her last five games and erupting for 29 points in a win over Stephen F. Austin last month. Nicholls State (12-12, 5-6) seeks to level the season series and climb back to .500 in conference play. The Colonels are looking to rebound from a 72-66 loss at Incarnate Word on Feb. 14, despite a near triple-double from guard Tanita Swift, who had 10 points, nine rebounds and seven assists. Swift has been a versatile catalyst, averaging 7.6 points, 5.9 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game in conference action. Marie Kenembeni, who scored a team-high 18 points in the loss to Incarnate Word, provides a secondary scoring punch. The game features a contrast in recent trajectories. Lamar has won four of its last six to remain in the upper tier of the conference, while Nicholls State has dropped four of its last six, including the previous meeting between these teams. Lamarās defense, which held Northwestern State to 45 points in its last home game, will be tested by a Nicholls State team that averages 66.2 points in league play. A key matchup will be in the backcourt between Lamarās Wilson and Nicholls Stateās Swift, whose all-around play is critical for the Colonelsā chances. Lamarās interior presence, led by Molly Powell (10 points, six rebounds last game), could be a factor against a Nicholls State team that was out-rebounded in the January meeting. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. CST at the Montagne Center. Lamar continues its homestand Saturday against New Orleans, while Nicholls State travels to face Stephen F. Austin on Feb. 21.
