Preview: Loyola Marymount Lions at Seattle Redhawks SEATTLE (Interstat) — The surging Loyola Marymount women’s basketball team will look to continue its push toward postseason play when it visits the struggling Seattle Redhawks on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2026, at Redhawk Center. The Lions (17-8) enter on a three-game winning streak, most recently defeating then-Gonzaga 72-63 on Feb. 14. They have won seven of their last eight contests. The Redhawks (5-19) have lost eight consecutive games, including a 59-86 defeat at Saint Mary’s on Monday. A dominant 81-40 victory for Loyola Marymount in Los Angeles on Jan. 31 underscores the recent disparity between these teams. The Lions have averaged 75.6 points per game during their 7-1 stretch, while Seattle has failed to score more than 67 points in any game during its losing skid. Loyola Marymount is led by versatile guard Jess Lawson, who is coming off a strong performance against Gonzaga with 16 points, seven rebounds and four assists in 25 minutes. Over the last eight games, Lawson has averaged 14.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.1 assists, providing consistent all-around production. Seattle will rely on guard Chloe Emanga, who logged 37 minutes in the loss to Saint Mary’s, finishing with eight points, six rebounds and three assists. Ella Brubaker, who scored a team-high 16 points in that game, offers a secondary scoring option for the Redhawks. The Lions’ recent success has been a collective effort. In the win over Gonzaga, Andjela Matic and Maya Hernandez joined Lawson in double figures, scoring 16 and 11 points, respectively. Loyola Marymount’s defense has also been key, holding opponents to an average of 64.1 points during its last eight games. For Seattle, reversing its fortunes will require a significant defensive improvement. The Redhawks have allowed an average of 78.5 points per game during their eight-game losing streak, including the 81-point outing by the Lions in January. Following this contest, Loyola Marymount will host San Diego on Saturday. Seattle will remain at home to face Portland on Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. PST at Redhawk Center.
