DE WITT, N.Y. (Interstat) β€” The Le Moyne Dolphins will look to continue their recent momentum when they host the struggling Central Connecticut Blue Devils in a Northeast Conference women’s basketball matchup on Thursday night at Ted Grant Court. The Dolphins (8-18) enter on a three-game winning streak, their longest of the season, following an 80-76 road victory at Chicago State on Saturday. The surge has been fueled by standout forward Ashley Buragas, who erupted for 30 points, eight rebounds and four assists in that win. Over her last three games, Buragas is averaging 22 points and 6.3 rebounds. Conversely, Central Connecticut (0-24) remains one of two winless teams in Division I, coming off a 77-36 home loss to Fairleigh Dickinson. The Blue Devils have lost 11 straight games by double digits. Guard Lucia Noin, who scored 12 points in the loss to FDU, will be a focal point. She had a season-high 24 points, eight rebounds and five assists in a Jan. 24 loss to Stonehill. This will be the second meeting between the teams this season. Le Moyne earned a 65-61 victory in New Britain, Connecticut, on Jan. 10. In that game, Buragas led the Dolphins with 17 points and nine rebounds, while Noin contributed 11 points for Central Connecticut. For Le Moyne, the game represents a chance to build confidence and climb the conference standings late in the season. For Central Connecticut, it is another opportunity to break into the win column, though they face a Dolphins squad playing its best basketball of the year. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. Eastern.
