TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Interstat) — A surging Alabama A&M women’s basketball team looks to extend its winning streak when it visits the Alfred Lawson, Jr. Multipurpose Center on Thursday to face Florida A&M in a Southwestern Athletic Conference matchup. The Bulldogs (15-9) enter on an eight-game winning streak, their latest a dominant 95-55 victory over Mississippi Valley State on Feb. 14. They previously defeated the Lady Rattlers 63-50 in Huntsville on Jan. 31. Alabama A&M is powered by guard Coriah Beck, who is coming off a triple-double performance with 18 points, 11 rebounds and six assists against Mississippi Valley State. Over the last eight games, Beck has averaged 12.4 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.6 assists. Florida A&M (7-17) seeks to halt a two-game skid and improve its home record after a 52-60 loss at Jackson State on Feb. 14. The Lady Rattlers have shown flashes, including conference wins over Texas Southern and Prairie View earlier this month. Forward Breazia Robinson anchors Florida A&M’s interior, averaging 9.9 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. She recorded a double-double with 10 rebounds and three blocks against Jackson State and has been a consistent defensive presence. The Bulldogs’ streak has been built on defensive pressure, holding opponents to an average of 51.1 points during the run. Alongside Beck, Jaida Belton (12 points, 13 rebounds vs. MVSU) and Kaila Walker (22 points vs. MVSU) provide scoring balance. Florida A&M will rely on guard Shaniyah McCarthy, who scored 19 points in the last outing, and Robinson to challenge Alabama A&M’s defense and disrupt its rhythm. The Lady Rattlers must improve ball security and find consistent offense beyond Robinson to counter the Bulldogs’ momentum. Tip-off is set for Thursday, Feb. 19, 2026, in Tallahassee.
