FORT COLLINS, Colo. (Interstat) — A surging Colorado State Rams squad will look to solidify its standing in the Mountain West when it hosts the struggling Nevada Wolf Pack in a women’s basketball matchup Wednesday night at Moby Arena. The Rams (19-7 overall) enter on the heels of a dominant 66-46 road victory at New Mexico last Saturday, a performance that underscored their defensive prowess. Colorado State has won five of its last seven games and remains in contention near the top of the conference. Nevada (8-17), meanwhile, seeks to halt a skid that has seen it lose eight of its last nine games. The Wolf Pack fell 78-64 at home to San Diego State in its most recent outing this past Saturday. The teams met earlier this season, with Colorado State securing a 61-48 win in Reno on Dec. 17, 2025. A key player to watch for the Rams is guard Kloe Froebe, who is coming off a stellar performance with 19 points, eight rebounds and three assists in 35 minutes against New Mexico. Her versatility and scoring punch have been central to Colorado State’s success. Nevada will rely on forward Makayla Carter, who led the Wolf Pack with 14 points and five rebounds in the loss to San Diego State. Carter has shown flashes of offensive production but Nevada has struggled to find consistent scoring outside of sporadic individual efforts. The Rams boast a balanced attack, as evidenced by Brooke Carlson’s 12 points and seven assists and Lexus Bargesser’s 13 points and seven rebounds against the Lobos. Their depth presents a significant challenge for a Nevada team that has been outscored by an average of 12.5 points over its last four defeats. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. local time Wednesday in Fort Collins.
