Preview: Navy Looks to Extend Win Streak at Lehigh in Patriot League Showdown FOUNTAIN HILL, Pa. (Interstat) — The surging Navy women’s basketball team will put its eight-game winning streak on the line Wednesday night when it visits Lehigh in a Patriot League matchup at Stabler Arena. The Midshipmen (18-6 overall) have been dominant during their run, winning each contest by an average of 17.5 points. They are coming off a 66-38 rout of Colgate on Saturday, where Zoe Mesuch led with 16 points and Zanai Barnett-Gay added 12 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Barnett-Gay, a dynamic guard, has been a consistent force for Navy. Over her last five games, she is averaging 15.2 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.0 assists, including a 22-point, 11-rebound double-double in a win at American on Feb. 7. Lehigh (13-11) aims to rebound from a 73-59 loss at Lafayette on Saturday. The Mountain Hawks have alternated wins and losses over their last six games. They will rely on the scoring of guard Lily Fandre, who poured in 20 points in the loss to Lafayette and is averaging 18.4 points over her last five contests. Fandre had a season-high 32 points in an overtime win at Loyola Maryland last month. The teams last met in the Patriot League tournament quarterfinals last season, with Lehigh securing a 72-64 victory. Navy currently sits near the top of the conference standings, while Lehigh looks to improve its positioning for the upcoming league tournament. Navy’s defense has been a hallmark of its streak, holding opponents to an average of 48.1 points during the eight wins. Lehigh’s offense averages 66.5 points per game at home this season. Following this game, Navy will prepare for a road matchup at rival Army on Saturday. Lehigh will travel to face Boston University on Saturday. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST.
