Preview: Kansas State Wildcats at UCF Knights ORLANDO, Fla. (Interstat) β Two Big 12 womenβs basketball teams seeking momentum will meet Wednesday when the Kansas State Wildcats visit the UCF Knights at CFE Arena. Kansas State (14-13) arrives after a narrow 76-72 road loss at Iowa State on Sunday. The Wildcats have alternated wins and losses over their last six games. UCF (10-15) looks to halt a seven-game losing streak, most recently a 93-63 home defeat to Baylor, also on Sunday. The matchup features contrasting recent fortunes but similar stakes as both programs aim to build consistency in the final stretch of conference play. A key player to watch is Kansas State guard Taryn Sides, who is coming off a dynamic 23-point, 4-assist performance in the loss to Iowa State. Sides has been a focal point for the Wildcats, scoring 21 or more points in three of her last seven games, including a 26-point outing at Kansas on Jan. 25 and a 13-assist game against BYU on Feb. 7. For UCF, guard Samari Bankhead will be relied upon to provide offensive spark. She led the Knights with 16 points in the loss to Baylor, her highest scoring output since December. Finding consistent production beyond Bankhead has been a challenge for UCF during its skid. Kansas State holds a slight edge in the standings, but has struggled on the road in conference play. UCF will look to leverage its home court, where it last won on Jan. 18 against Colorado. The game tips off at 7 p.m. EST Wednesday in Oviedo.
