Preview: Boston University at Colgate Women’s Basketball HAMILTON, N.Y. (Interstat) — Two Patriot League teams seeking momentum will meet Wednesday when the Boston University Terriers visit the Colgate Raiders at Cotterell Court. The matchup features teams with nearly identical struggles this season. Boston University (8-17 overall) enters with a slight edge in the standings over Colgate (6-18). Both squads have found wins scarce in conference play, making this a critical opportunity for either to build confidence heading into the final stretch of the regular season. The Terriers are coming off one of their best performances of the season, a 68-54 road victory at Bucknell on Feb. 14. Boston University was led in that game by a trio of double-digit scorers: Anastasiia Semenova (21 points, 7 rebounds), Inés Monteagudo (20 points) and Bella McLaughlin (15 points, 7 assists). Prior to that win, the Terriers had dropped five consecutive games. Colgate, conversely, is mired in a six-game losing streak following a 66-38 defeat at Navy on Feb. 14. The Raiders have been held under 45 points in four of those six losses. Lara Cook led Colgate with 8 points off the bench in the loss to the Midshipmen. A key storyline will be the rematch of the teams’ Jan. 24 meeting in Boston, which the Terriers won 58-54. Semenova was pivotal in that victory, scoring 16 points in 35 minutes. She has been Boston University’s most consistent offensive threat, averaging 14.1 points over her last eight games. Cook, a player to watch for Colgate, logged 10 minutes in the first matchup without scoring. She will look for a more impactful performance at home as the Raiders seek to avenge the earlier loss and snap their prolonged skid. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST. Following this game, Boston University will host Lehigh on Saturday, while Colgate travels to face Loyola Maryland on Sunday.
