BOISE, Idaho (Interstat) ā The surging Boise State womenās basketball team, riding high in the Mountain West standings, will look to complete a season sweep when it hosts Air Force on Wednesday night at Taco Bell Arena. The Broncos (20-6, 9-2 MW) have won eight of their last nine games and sit near the top of the conference. They edged Wyoming 56-54 on Saturday, powered by a 20-point, 9-rebound performance from standout guard Libby Hutton. The junior has been a consistent force, averaging 13.7 points over her last seven contests. Air Force (12-13, 5-7) arrives in Boise after a decisive 77-61 home victory over San Jose State. The Falcons were led in that win by Keelie OāHollarenās 18 points and seven rebounds. OāHollaren, a key player for the Falcons, is averaging 10.6 points per game in conference play. Boise State won the first meeting this season, 70-59, at Air Force on Jan. 7. The Broncos have dominated the recent series, winning 17 straight matchups against the Falcons dating back to 2012. The Falcons have shown resilience, winning three of their last five, but face a steep challenge on the road. Boise State is 11-1 at home this season, with its only loss coming against Fresno State on Jan. 21. The Broncos boast the conferenceās top scoring offense, averaging 72.2 points per game. For Air Force to pull an upset, it will need another strong performance from OāHollaren and must contain Hutton and a deep Boise State rotation. The Broncos have four players averaging double-figure scoring in league games. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. MST Wednesday at Taco Bell Arena. The game will be broadcast on the Mountain West Network.
