MARTIN, Tenn. (Interstat) — The Tennessee-Martin women’s basketball team will look to complete a regular-season sweep and solidify its position in the Ohio Valley Conference standings when it hosts Southeast Missouri State on Tuesday night at Skyhawk Arena. The Skyhawks (12-12) defeated the Redhawks (8-17) 67-56 in Cape Girardeau just four weeks ago, on Jan. 20. In that contest, Tennessee-Martin’s Kenley McCarn scored 12 points, while Southeast Missouri’s Carmen Taylor led her team with 14. Both guards enter the rematch as key players to watch. McCarn is coming off a 15-point, four-rebound effort in a 62-52 loss at SIU Edwardsville on Saturday. She has averaged 14.4 points over her last five games. Taylor is in a strong scoring stretch for the Redhawks, averaging 15.7 points over her last three contests, including a 23-point performance in a 78-67 loss at Lindenwood on Saturday. The game features two teams seeking to end recent slides. Southeast Missouri has lost four straight since a win at Eastern Illinois on Jan. 31. Tennessee-Martin has dropped its last two, falling to Lindenwood and SIU Edwardsville after a two-game winning streak. The Skyhawks have been stronger at home in conference play, while the Redhawks have struggled on the road. Tennessee-Martin will aim to leverage its home court advantage before a quick turnaround to face Arkansas-Little Rock on Thursday. Southeast Missouri hopes to find a consistent offensive rhythm beyond Taylor’s production to snap its losing streak. Tipoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. CST Tuesday in Martin.
