NEWTON, Mass. (Interstat) — The Miami (Fla.) Hurricanes look to halt a four-game skid when they visit the struggling Boston College Eagles in an Atlantic Coast Conference women’s basketball matchup Sunday at Silvio O. Conte Forum. Miami (12-12, 2-9 ACC) is coming off an 87-70 loss at Florida State on Feb. 8, despite a dominant 23-point, 13-rebound performance from center Ra Shaya Kyle. The Hurricanes have lost six of their last seven, with their lone win in that stretch a 75-66 victory at SMU on Jan. 25. Boston College (4-23, 0-12) seeks its first conference win amid a 13-game losing streak. The Eagles fell 85-76 at Florida State on Thursday, led by Lily Carmody’s 18 points. Their last win was a 64-61 victory over Pittsburgh on Jan. 4. The matchup features two of the ACC’s top individual scorers in recent weeks. Kyle has been a force for Miami, averaging 17.1 points and 7.2 rebounds over her last seven games, including a 36-point, 13-rebound double-double against the Seminoles. Carmody has paced Boston College, scoring in double figures in five of her last seven contests. Miami won the season’s first meeting, 89-73, in Coral Gables on Jan. 11. Kyle had 24 points and 11 rebounds in that game, while Ahnay Adams added 22 points for the Hurricanes. The Hurricanes’ offense, which averages 68.2 points per game, will test a Boston College defense allowing a conference-worst 81.2 points per game in ACC play. Miami’s defense, however, has conceded 74.3 points per game during its current 1-6 stretch. Following this game, Miami hosts Stanford on Feb. 19. Boston College travels to face SMU on the same date.
