Preview: Wright State Visits Oakland in Horizon League Matchup AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (Interstat) — Two teams seeking momentum in the back half of the Horizon League schedule will meet Saturday when the Wright State Raiders visit the Oakland Golden Grizzlies in a women’s basketball matchup. The game is set for Feb. 14, 2026, at the Athletics Center O’rena. Both teams enter with identical 8-18 overall records, though conference standings were not provided. Each squad snapped a losing streak in its most recent outing. Wright State defeated Detroit 78-61 on Thursday behind 18 points from Claire Henson. Oakland, meanwhile, is looking to rebound from a 64-57 loss at IU Indy on Wednesday despite 14 points from Layla Gold. Henson, a key player to watch for the visiting Raiders, is averaging 12.8 points over her last five games, including a 31-minute, 18-point performance in the win over Detroit. For the Golden Grizzlies, Gold has been a consistent contributor, scoring in double figures in five of her last eight contests and recording a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds in a Jan. 18 victory at Detroit. The season’s first meeting resulted in a 61-57 road victory for Oakland at Wright State on Dec. 3, 2025. Recent form has been a challenge for both programs. Prior to its win over Detroit, Wright State had dropped three of four. Oakland’s loss to IU Indy extended a difficult stretch where the Golden Grizzlies have lost five of their last six games. Following this contest, Wright State will host Milwaukee on Feb. 18. Oakland will travel to face Fort Wayne on the same date.
