Preview: Western Michigan Broncos at Central Michigan Chippewas MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (Interstat) — The Central Michigan women’s basketball team will look to complete a regular-season sweep of its in-state rival when it hosts Western Michigan on Saturday at McGuirk Arena. The Mid-American Conference matchup pits teams heading in opposite directions. The Chippewas (15-8) have won seven of their last nine games, while the Broncos (7-15) have lost four of their last five. Central Michigan dominated the first meeting, a 64-44 road victory on Jan. 24. The Chippewas have been led by guard Madi Morson, who is averaging 24.4 points over her last five games. She scored 29 points in an 86-79 win over Akron on Wednesday and had 16 points in the January win over Western Michigan. The Broncos will counter with guard Kailey Starks, who is coming off a 33-point, seven-rebound performance in a win over South Alabama on Feb. 7. However, she was held to just two points in the loss to Central Michigan last month. In Western Michigan’s most recent game, a 60-55 loss to Miami (Ohio) on Tuesday, Starks scored 17 points. Central Michigan’s offense has been potent, scoring 86 and 90 points in its last two victories. Western Michigan has struggled to find consistent scoring, failing to reach 60 points in four of its last six games. The game tips off at 1 p.m. EST on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026. Up Next: Western Michigan visits Bowling Green on Wednesday, Feb. 18. Central Michigan visits Miami (Ohio) on Wednesday, Feb. 18.
