NEWARK, Del. (Interstat) — A pair of teams seeking momentum will meet Saturday when the Delaware Blue Hens host the UTEP Miners in a Conference USA women’s basketball matchup at the Bob Carpenter Center. The game, scheduled for Feb. 14, 2026, features two squads looking to build consistency in the second half of the league slate. Delaware (12-12 overall) enters with a .500 record after a narrow 65-62 home victory over New Mexico State on Thursday. UTEP (10-13) arrives following a 58-48 road loss at Liberty that same day. The Miners will rely on forward Mary Moses Amaniyo, who is coming off a strong performance of 13 points and eight rebounds in 31 minutes against Liberty. Over her last seven games, Amaniyo has averaged 11.1 points and 5.0 rebounds, including a 16-point, 7-rebound effort in a win over New Mexico State on Jan. 31. For the Blue Hens, guard Ande’a Cherisier has been a consistent offensive force. She scored 18 points in 39 minutes in the win over New Mexico State, her fifth game with 16 or more points in the last eight contests. During that stretch, she is averaging 16.4 points per game. This is the second meeting between the programs this season. UTEP won the first matchup 82-71 in El Paso on Jan. 2, 2026. The Miners have lost three straight since their last victory, while Delaware has won two of its last three. Defensive execution will be critical. UTEP has been held under 60 points in four of its last five games. Delaware, meanwhile, has found success in lower-scoring contests, winning three of its last five games while allowing an average of just 58.2 points in those victories. The game tips off as part of a key weekend in Conference USA play, with both teams looking to improve their positioning ahead of the conference tournament.
