HALDEMAN, Ky. (Interstat) — The Morehead State Eagles will look to solidify their position in the Ohio Valley Conference standings when they host the struggling Tennessee State Tigers in a women’s basketball matchup on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026, at E.T. Johnson Arena. The Eagles (15-11) enter the contest seeking to rebound from a narrow 61-58 home loss to Tennessee Tech on Thursday. Morehead State had won five of its previous six games prior to that defeat. The Tigers (4-20) aim to halt a four-game skid, most recently an 81-55 road loss at Southern Indiana on Thursday. This game is a quick rematch of a Jan. 15 meeting in Nashville, where Tennessee State upset Morehead State 70-62. The Tigers will need a similar performance to counter their recent form, having lost 10 of their last 11 games overall. A key player to watch for Morehead State is Landon Forbes, who is coming off an 18-point, 5-rebound, 4-assist effort in the loss to Tennessee Tech. Forbes has scored 18 points in two of her last three games and will be central to the Eagles’ offensive plans. Tennessee State will rely on guard XaiOnna Whitfield, who has been a consistent scorer despite the team’s losses. Whitfield tallied 16 points in the loss to Southern Indiana and has averaged 13.1 points over her last eight contests. The Eagles have been strong at home this season, while the Tigers have found wins elusive on the road. Morehead State will be favored, but the memory of January’s upset loss provides a clear warning. Tipoff is set for Saturday afternoon in Haldeman.
