MORAGA, Calif. (Interstat) — The Saint Mary’s Gaels will look to solidify their position in the West Coast Conference standings when they host the struggling Seattle Redhawks in a women’s basketball matchup on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026. The Gaels (14-12 overall) enter McKeon Pavilion seeking to rebound from a narrow 56-53 home loss to Pacific on Thursday. Saint Mary’s has shown resilience at home this season, including a 53-51 win over Pepperdine last month. Seattle (5-18) arrives mired in a prolonged slump, having lost eight consecutive games. Their most recent outing was a 71-54 defeat at San Diego on Feb. 7. The Redhawks’ last victory was a 68-62 home win over San Diego on Jan. 8. This contest is a quick rematch of a Jan. 24 game in Seattle, which Saint Mary’s won 67-53. In that victory, the Gaels’ defense contained all Redhawks except standout guard Ella Brubaker, who scored 26 points. Brubaker remains the focal point for Seattle, averaging 21.3 points over her last three games. She poured in a game-high 27 points in the loss at San Diego. Containing her will be a primary objective for the Gaels’ defense. Saint Mary’s will counter with its own offensive leader in guard Abigail Shoff. She is coming off a 19-point performance against Pacific and scored 18 in a loss to Loyola Marymount on Feb. 5. Shoff was instrumental in the first meeting with Seattle, contributing 10 points, five rebounds and two assists. The Gaels have struggled offensively at times, failing to reach 55 points in three of their last five games. Facing a Seattle defense that has allowed an average of 76.6 points during its eight-game skid could provide a chance to regain rhythm. For the Redhawks, finding secondary scoring behind Brubaker is critical. In the Jan. 24 loss to Saint Mary’s, no other Seattle player scored more than eight points. Tipoff is scheduled for Saturday afternoon at McKeon Pavilion. Saint Mary’s will visit Santa Clara next on Thursday, Feb. 19, while Seattle will host Loyola Marymount on the same date.
