SACRAMENTO, Calif. (Interstat) — The Northern Arizona Lumberjacks look to build on a rare win and avenge a recent loss when they visit the Sacramento State Hornets in a Big Sky Conference women’s basketball matchup Saturday at Colberg Court. The game tips off on Feb. 14, 2026, with the Hornets (11-13) seeking a regular-season sweep after routing the Lumberjacks 78-59 in Flagstaff on Jan. 15. Northern Arizona (8-17) enters having snapped a five-game skid with a 73-65 home victory over Weber State last Saturday. That win was powered by a dominant performance from guard Naomi White, who scored 31 points. White has been the focal point for the Lumberjacks, averaging 24.1 points over her last seven games, including a 29-point effort in a narrow road loss to Montana. Containing her will be a primary objective for the Sacramento State defense. The Hornets have lost three of their last four, including a tight 64-62 defeat at Portland State last time out. In that game, forward Fatoumata Jaiteh contributed 12 points, eight rebounds and three assists. Jaiteh has been a consistent presence, averaging 6.6 points and 5.0 rebounds over her last five contests. Sacramento State holds the better overall record and home-court advantage, where they are 6-5 this season. Northern Arizona is just 2-10 on the road. The Lumberjacks will need secondary scoring beyond White to support their star; Madison Watts (15 points) and Layla Davis (13 points) provided that help in the win over Weber State. Both teams are in the bottom half of the conference standings and will be battling for positioning with the Big Sky tournament approaching in March. Saturday’s contest represents a critical opportunity for each to gain momentum.
