Preview: Mississippi Valley State Devilettes at Alabama A&M Bulldogs HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (Interstat) — A surging Alabama A&M women’s basketball team will look to continue its climb in the Southwestern Athletic Conference standings when it hosts struggling Mississippi Valley State on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026, at T.M. Elmore Gymnasium. The Bulldogs (14-9 overall) enter on a seven-game winning streak, their latest an 82-54 rout of Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Thursday. Guard Maori Davenport has been a consistent catalyst during the run, averaging 11.7 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists over her last seven contests. In the win over Pine Bluff, she posted 11 points and seven assists. Conversely, the Devilettes (4-18) have lost five straight, including a 70-86 defeat at Alabama State on Thursday. Guard Sydnei Marshall leads Mississippi Valley State, coming off a 12-point, four-assist performance in that loss. She scored a season-high 18 points in a narrow loss to Alcorn State on Feb. 5. The teams’ first meeting this season was a thriller, with Mississippi Valley State pulling out a 74-72 overtime victory at home on Jan. 1. That result snapped a five-game skid in the series for the Devilettes. Alabama A&M’s defense has been a hallmark of its streak, holding opponents to an average of 50.1 points during the seven wins. Mississippi Valley State has struggled offensively, failing to reach 70 points in four of its last five games. For the Bulldogs, a win would solidify their position near the top of the SWAC. For the Devilettes, it represents a chance to salvage a split of the season series and build momentum for the final stretch of the regular season. Tipoff is set for Saturday afternoon in Huntsville.
