LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Interstat) — Two Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference women’s basketball teams seeking momentum will meet Saturday when the Marist Red Foxes visit the Rider Broncs at Alumni Gymnasium. The matchup features struggling squads, with Marist entering at 10-16 overall and Rider at 5-19. The game is scheduled for Feb. 14, 2026. Marist won the previous meeting this season, 62-49 at home on Jan. 10. The Red Foxes are looking to rebound from a tough 77-72 overtime loss to Merrimack on Thursday. In that game, guard Kasey Bretones scored 18 points in 29 minutes. Bretones has been a key offensive contributor, averaging double figures over her last several contests, including a 14-point effort in a loss at Fairfield on Feb. 5. Rider arrives after a narrow 42-40 home loss to Saint Peter’s on Thursday, a game in which they managed just 40 points. Guard Alena Cofield led the Broncs with 10 points in that contest and has been a consistent presence in the lineup, logging significant minutes throughout conference play. Rider’s most recent win was a 71-60 victory over Manhattan on Feb. 5. Both teams have faced offensive challenges this season. Marist’s conference schedule has been marked by inconsistency, with a 56-53 win over Saint Peter’s on Feb. 7 followed by the overtime defeat. Rider has found wins scarce, with only two victories since the calendar turned to January. For Marist, containing Cofield and generating offense beyond Bretones will be crucial. For Rider, solving its scoring droughts and protecting its home floor against a team it recently lost to are the primary objectives. The game is part of the MAAC regular-season schedule. Following this contest, Marist will host Manhattan on Feb. 19, while Rider will travel to face Canisius on the same date.
