CHICAGO (Interstat) — Two teams seeking momentum in the final stretch of the season will meet Saturday when the Chicago State Cougars host the Le Moyne Dolphins in a women’s NCAA Division I basketball matchup organized by the Northeast Conference. The game is set for Feb. 14, 2026, at Jones Convocation Center. Chicago State (8-17) enters with a slight edge in the standings and confidence from a recent victory over these same Dolphins. The Cougars won the previous meeting 61-55 on Jan. 17 in Syracuse, New York, keyed by a balanced effort. They arrive riding a four-game winning streak, their longest of the season, after a 60-57 home victory over New Haven last Saturday. Guard Keona McGee has been instrumental in the surge. Over the last four games, all wins, she is averaging 18.8 points. She scored 28 points in a win over Central Connecticut on Feb. 5 and added 19 points and seven rebounds against New Haven. Le Moyne (7-18) halted a five-game skid with a pair of wins last week, defeating Wagner 62-49 and Saint Francis (PA) 62-50. The Dolphins will look to avenge their January loss and build on that positive momentum. They will lean heavily on forward Ashley Buragas, who is coming off a dominant 23-point, 8-rebound performance in the win at Saint Francis. Buragas torched Chicago State for 23 points in the first matchup and has scored in double figures in seven consecutive games, averaging 16.1 points and 7.1 rebounds over that span. The matchup features two of the conference’s top individual talents in McGee and Buragas, whose scoring prowess will be central to their teams’ strategies. While Chicago State has found a rhythm in close games during its streak, Le Moyne’s recent improved form suggests a more competitive rematch. Following this game, Chicago State travels to face Fairleigh Dickinson on Feb. 19, while Le Moyne hosts Central Connecticut on the same date.
