PROVIDENCE, R.I. (Interstat) — A critical Ivy League women’s basketball matchup with postseason implications is set for Saturday when Harvard visits Brown at Pizzitola Sports Center. Both teams enter with identical 14-win overall records and momentum from victories the previous night. Harvard (14-8) defeated Yale 70-62 on Friday, while Brown (14-7) earned a 58-51 home win over Dartmouth. The contest is a quick rematch of a Jan. 31 thriller in Cambridge, where Harvard’s Karlee White scored 21 points to lead the Crimson to a narrow 61-58 victory over the Bears. That result tightened the conference standings and sets the stage for a high-stakes Valentine’s Day showdown in Providence. White, a dynamic guard, has been on a scoring tear. She is averaging 18.4 points over her last five games, including a 27-point, 10-rebound performance in a narrow overtime loss to Princeton on Jan. 19. Her playmaking will be central to Harvard’s offense. Brown will counter with its own standout guard, Grace Arnolie. She scored 16 points in the first meeting against Harvard and is coming off a 19-point effort against Dartmouth. Arnolie has consistently been a top scorer for the Bears, recording 20 or more points in three of her last seven games. The game features two of the Ivy League’s most efficient offenses. Harvard has won five of its last six, including dominant wins over Cornell (84-38) and Yale (72-44) in late January. Brown, meanwhile, has shown resilience, battling Princeton tough in a 58-49 loss and securing a double-overtime win over Penn earlier in conference play. With both teams jockeying for position in the Ivy League table ahead of the final stretch of the regular season, Saturday’s contest carries significant weight. The winner will gain a crucial head-to-head tiebreaker and valuable momentum. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. EST at the Pizzitola Sports Center.
