Both teams enter the Valentine’s Day contest with nearly identical records. Colorado State (18-7 overall) holds a slim edge over New Mexico (17-8) in the conference standings, adding significance to the rematch. The Lobos won the first meeting 66-59 in Fort Collins on Jan. 7. The Rams are looking to rebound from a narrow 64-61 road loss at San Diego State on Wednesday. Guard Lexus Bargesser, the team’s focal point, scored 16 points in that defeat. She has been a consistent force, averaging 16.0 points per game over her last seven contests, including a 26-point performance in a loss at UNLV on Jan. 31.
