DURHAM, N.C. (Interstat) — A pair of Eagles seeking momentum will meet Saturday when Coppin State visits North Carolina Central in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference women’s basketball matchup at McLendon-McDougald Gymnasium. Both teams enter with struggling overall records but have shown recent signs of life in conference play. Coppin State (7-18) has won three of its last four, including a dominant 83-59 victory over Delaware State on Feb. 7. North Carolina Central (6-15) has won three of its last five, most recently a 58-44 home win over Delaware State on Monday. The matchup will feature a compelling duel between two of the MEAC’s top performers. Coppin State is led by guard Khila Morris, who is coming off a 24-point, 6-assist effort against Delaware State and has averaged 17.2 points over her last six games. For North Carolina Central, forward Aniya Finger has been a force, posting double-doubles in two of her last three conference games, including a 30-point outburst against Maryland-Eastern Shore on Feb. 2. Coppin State won the first meeting this season, 77-70 at home on Jan. 10. In that game, Morris scored 10 points with eight rebounds for Coppin State, while Finger was held to seven points for NCCU. For Coppin State, sustaining its recent offensive efficiency will be key after scoring 80-plus points in two of its last three wins. North Carolina Central will look to leverage its home court and continue its improved defensive form after holding its last two MEAC opponents under 60 points. The game tips off at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026.
