Preview: UConn Visits Marquette in Big East Showdown MILWAUKEE (Interstat) — The undefeated and top-ranked Connecticut Huskies put their perfect record on the line Saturday against the Marquette Golden Eagles in a Big East women’s basketball matchup at the Bradley Center. UConn (26-0, 13-0 Big East) arrives as the nation’s dominant force, having won every game this season by an average margin of 41.2 points. The Huskies are coming off a 94-44 rout of Creighton on Wednesday, their 12th consecutive victory by 30 or more points. Marquette (16-9, 8-5) seeks a program-defining upset but enters on a two-game skid, including a 70-58 home loss to Seton Hall. The Golden Eagles have struggled offensively in those defeats, averaging just 66 points. The Huskies are led by guard Azzi Fudd, who is averaging 18.1 points per game. She has been in stellar form, scoring 19 or more points in four of her last six contests, including a 27-point, 7-rebound, 7-assist performance against Tennessee on Feb. 1. Marquette will counter with forward Skylar Forbes, its most consistent scorer and rim protector. Forbes averages a team-high 14.5 points and 2.4 blocks per game. She scored 17 points in the loss to Seton Hall and had 22 points and five assists in a win over Providence on Feb. 4. History heavily favors the visitors. In the teams’ most recent meeting on Dec. 17, UConn throttled Marquette 89-53 in Storrs. The Huskies’ relentless defense, which allows a nation-best 44.7 points per game, will challenge a Marquette offense that has been held under 60 points six times this season. For UConn, a victory would maintain its firm grip on the Big East regular-season title. For Marquette, a strong performance is crucial for both conference tournament seeding and NCAA Tournament resume building. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. EST on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026.
