MEMPHIS, Tenn. (Interstat) — Two American Athletic Conference teams seeking momentum will meet Saturday when the Charlotte 49ers visit the Memphis Tigers at FedExForum. The matchup features Charlotte (11-13) and Memphis (8-15), who are both looking to build on recent victories after struggling through much of the conference schedule. The 49ers snapped a three-game skid with a 47-44 road win at Tulane on Feb. 4, followed by an 81-72 home victory over Wichita State on Feb. 7. Memphis broke a five-game losing streak with a 52-40 win over Texas-San Antonio on Jan. 23 but has since dropped four straight, including a narrow 58-56 loss at UAB on Tuesday. A key player to watch will be Charlotte forward Asianae Nicholson, who is coming off a dominant performance. In the win over Wichita State, she recorded a double-double with 14 points and 17 rebounds in 31 minutes. Over her last seven games, she has posted three double-doubles. For Memphis, guard Cori Allen will be central to the Tigers’ efforts. She averages 7.4 points and 3.4 assists per game and logged 38 minutes in the close loss to UAB, contributing nine points and five assists. The teams last met on Dec. 31, 2025, in Charlotte, where the 49ers secured a 62-49 victory. In that game, Charlotte’s defense held Memphis to 30.2% shooting from the field. This contest represents a chance for either squad to gain ground in the conference standings and establish a winning rhythm heading into the final stretch of the regular season. For Memphis, it’s an opportunity for revenge on their home court. For Charlotte, continuing their modest two-game win streak is the priority as they begin a two-game road swing. Tip-off is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026, in Memphis.
