BOULDER, Colo. (Interstat) — Two teams on the NCAA tournament bubble will meet in a critical Big 12 conference clash when the Colorado Buffaloes host the BYU Cougars on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026, at the Coors Events Center. Both squads enter with nearly identical records, as BYU (18-8, 8-5 Big 12) holds a slight edge over Colorado (17-8, 8-5 Big 12) in the overall win column. The matchup is the first of a home-and-home series that will conclude in Provo on Feb. 28. The Cougars are coming off an 83-69 home victory over Iowa State on Tuesday, powered by 23 points from Olivia Hamlin and 21 from standout guard Delaney Gibb. BYU has struggled on the road in conference play, however, dropping its last three away games at Kansas State, Kansas and Oklahoma State by an average of 22 points. Colorado arrives with momentum after a 73-63 road win at Houston on Wednesday. The Buffaloes have won five of their last six, with their only loss in that stretch a 61-55 defeat to West Virginia. Guard Jade Masogayo has been instrumental, scoring 20 or more points in three of the last four games, including a 23-point performance in a narrow 80-79 win over TCU. The game will feature a compelling backcourt duel between Gibb and Masogayo. Gibb, BYU’s offensive catalyst, is averaging 16.1 points over her last eight games and is coming off a 21-point, 3-assist effort. Masogayo provides consistent scoring punch for Colorado, averaging 18.1 points in her last seven contests. With both teams firmly in the hunt for a postseason berth, Saturday’s contest carries significant weight for their tournament resumes. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. MST. The Buffaloes will look to protect their home court, where they are 11-2 this season, while the Cougars aim to reverse their recent road fortunes and secure a pivotal Quad 1 victory.
